Weekly Word December 16, 2025

We have one Sunday left in our Advent series at ASBC, a guest preacher on December 28, and then we finally get to settle into the book of John! For everyone who wants one, we have Scripture journals available specifically for John’s Gospel. We are just about through all of our Christmas festivities as a church, but the season is not over yet. Personally, I’m not in a rush to get past the holidays. It is the most wonderful time of the year!

I also know that this time of year is difficult for many people. For many children, it’s a reminder that they don’t have as much as others–some don’t even have a loving father or mother. For many adults, this will be their first holiday without a spouse, mother, or father who passed away in the last year. For some, the holidays only seem to bring up bad memories. If you fall within any of these groups or know someone who does, please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. If you need anything at all during the next week, please reach out. As a church family, we love and care about you.

Here’s the sermon, if you missed it or want to share:

On Sunday, I will be in Isaiah 9:6-7 as we conclude our Advent series.
