25 Days of Christmas

Have you ever wondered why we can have so much faith in a person born in Bethlehem more than two thousand years ago, raised in Nazareth, and crucified under the authority of a Roman governor? After His crucifixion, Jesus was seen walking around and meeting with people. That’s right. The man they put to death didn’t stay dead. He made it a point to talk to people. On one occasion, He walked with Cleopas and another person to Emmaus. They didn’t recognize Jesus at first, but He told them about everything written about Him in the Old Testament.

People claim to be prophets all the time. Rarely is there any significant evidence to accompany their claims. Jesus not only rose from the dead, there were things revealed by God and written about Him for more than 1,500 years before He was born. You have to think that if God is coming, He would announce His arrival. He did. He took His time so His testimony couldn’t rightly be ignored. He provided so many details that no person could fulfill everything predicted unless it was all true and the person was truly the Son of God. With more than 300 prophecies foretold concerning Jesus, He fulfilled them all. That’s no insignificant thing. People claim to be prophets all the time. Jesus is the only one who proved it.

This holiday season, Heaven meets Earth as we look at the Christmas story as told through the prophets hundreds of years before the shepherds were drawn to that small manger in Bethlehem.
