Weekly Word 11/4/2025

Last week was a busy week with the BCM lunch, our Trunk-or-Treat, and the youth trip to Lidsay for Judgment House. God is so good to provide us with everything we have and all the opportunities that are afforded to us. This week, Kati and I are going to begin having people over to the house for dinner. I love to cook, and it will be a great chance for us to really begin getting to know you and having real fellowship together. We will plan a Christmas party/open house sometime closer to Christmas and are almost ready to host some youth parties and game-nights. We want our home to be a place where our family (that’s you) is always welcome.

The last three weeks have been wonderful as we have started settling in, and I’m currently working on drafting a Constitution and By-Laws for the church because we don’t currently have those. They aren’t going to change much about how we currently do things, but they are going to protect the church legally if anything comes up. They are not going to be long because we don’t want to be in the business of thinking our ways are somehow more important that God’s. You’ll probably start hearing more about that in January and February. Whatever the final product looks like, my goal is for people to read even the By-Laws and meet Jesus.

If you didn’t pick up your calendar on Sunday, be sure to pick one up in the church lobby!

Here’s the sermon, if you missed it or want to share:

This week, we are:

  • Donating biscuits for the USAO BCM’s HalloThanksMas meal!
    • Tuesday.
  • Feeding the Alex football team!
    • Thursday at 5:30pm

If you are helping with either of those things, remember that they are this week!

We are back to regular activities this Wednesday for youth, children, and adults! One of our own students is even teacher her peers during youth group. You won’t want to miss it!

On Sunday, I am finishing my “Church is…” series in Hebrews 10:24-25, where the author instructs Christians not to neglect the gathering together of ourselves. We learn the biblical purpose for our gathering together and why people who love Jesus don’t neglect coming together.

Volunteers for this Sunday:

Nursery: Open. Contact us to volunteer.

Children’s Church: Bailey.

If you would like to volunteer any Sunday, contact us or sign up on the sign-up sheets by the church office.
